Speaker Bio
Sazini Mojapelo is the Managing Partner and Chairperson of Shift Impact Africa and the Shared Value Africa Initiative (SVAI) and a member of the Shared Value Africa Initiative, Steering Committee.
Until recently, Sazini was responsible for Group Corporate Citizenship and Community Investments at Absa Group Limited Africa.
Her expertise lies in the development and execution of strategic plans linked to business development, focused on the small enterprise development, creating shared value, sustainability and financial inclusion.
A Harvard Business School Graduate, Sazini is a strategist and development specialist by training, holding a double major degree in Sociology and Industrial Psychology as well as having obtained a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the University of Cape Town.
Prior to joining Absa Group Limited, she was the CEO and co-founder of Hand in Hand Southern Africa, an NGO with the focus on micro and small business development in peri urban and rural areas with a special focus on youth and women.
She has over 17 years’ experience, working in government, civil society including corporate and private sector and is a Trustee at the Southern Africa Trust and a Trustee of the Absa Foundation Trust. She is also a member of Impact Investing South Africa.
