Matthieu is the Chief Executive Officer of the Axian Group's Open Innovation and Fintech division, which includes NextA (business and start-up incubation) and Pulse (IT services and development) as well as Axian Group's overall Fintech business (in Tanzania, Togo, Senegal, Comoros & Madagascar). He is in charge of the strategic positioning of the Group on fintech services while developing Big Data, Research & Development projects.
Previously, he held the position of Chief Commercial and Digital Officer for Axian Telecom to support the Group’s expansion outside Madagascar.
As a digital services innovator, he was instrumental to the launch of MVola in 2010, the first mobile money platform in Madagascar, and since then he has been holding the position of CEO, MVola.
After working for various telecom operators in Africa, Matthieu moved to Madagascar in 2005 to take up the challenge of rebooting Telma, the incumbent operator in Madagascar. He was an integral part of Telma’s tremendous success whilst holding various key positions up to the Deputy CEO and VP Marketing & Commercial.
Matthieu Macé graduated from the ESSCA with a master in entrepreneurship.
