Speaker Bio
Kalkidan Tadesse is the national project coordinator for the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project, a world bank financed project being implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Skills, Ethiopia.
A Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), Kalkidan has a rich history in the Finance sector working in various positions as external auditor, finance manager and grant fund manager; with over fifteen years’ experience in this profession.
She is currently working in the Public Sector, at the Ministry of Labour and Skills in Ethiopia overseeing World Bank projects being implemented by the Ministry within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. As the national project coordinator she is overseeing a portfolio of $150 million in implementing an initiative that will reform the TVET sector; where skills development is at the core of the initiative.
Kalkidan is also known for her dedication and commitment in the Finance Sector as she is serving as the Country Ambassador for ACCA Ethiopia, where currently the association has over 700 Chartered certified accountants and over 2000 students currently enrolled in Ethiopia.
