Davide Tacchino is the Managing Executive of Terminals and Logistics at Vodacom South Africa with over 25 years’ experience within the telecommunications industry. In this current role dating back to 2015, Davide manages the end-to-end Terminals value chain, ranging from strategy to commercials, to sales and logistics. Davide also co-leads the Terminals Acceleration Business Unit for Vodacom International markets and businesses to provide support in terms of Terminal Strategy and Implementation. In 2020, Davide was appointed as a member of the Italian South African Chamber of Trade and Industry Board of Directors, where he provides support and facilitates business opportunities across the two countries.
Prior to joining Vodacom in South Africa, Davide spearheaded the Consumer Segment in Vodafone Italy, a role he joined in 2004. During his tenure at Vodafone Italy, he was instrumental in launching the first plans and offers for the Youth Segment, as well as the discounted tariffs and propositions for the Immigration Segment called “One Nation”. Among other roles, Davide also joined Vodafone South Europe as Head of Terminals & Marketing and then Head of Terminals for Italy and Malta, where his pacesetting leadership drive delivered the Terminals Strategy Definition and Implementation to migrate customers to 3G and then later to 4G.
Davide holds Masters Degree in Information Technology & Telecommunication as well as a 5-year Electronic Degree from the University of Genoa. Davide was also nominated to participate in the Vodafone Group Global Leadership Program (GLP) reserved for talent development and achieved a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
