Angelica Pesha, the CEO of MTMSL (Tigo Pesa) stands out in the Tanzania corporate world as the consummate digital financial service expert with rich experience in corporate business strategy, change management and value creation steeped in operational efficiency and performance drive.
She has left traceable footprints of excellence in her leadership assignments in Millicom for the past 12 years with several “first-accolades” to her name. She was promoted to the C – executive level position in 2020 as the first woman to grow internally to this level in the organization. She is also the first woman to lead the mobile money business in the sector in Tanzania.
She spearheaded the growth of Tigo Pesa from remittance product into a complete financial services platform with close to 10 million users.
Angelica is a transformational leader, people person who believes in building the capacity of teams to achieve great business successes.
Her passion includes mentoring and serving as model in the Telecom industry for the young tech savvy aspiring women to follow.
She is a Holder of BCom (Hons) from the University of Dar-es Salaam, a CPA (T) and a trained Fintech Expert from the Saïd Business School (Oxford) in addition to Organizational Leadership and Strategy from Strathmore Business School.
